Men’s Health Week Sessions

We are now in Movember which is traditionally the month where we raise awareness of men’s health issues and Humber, Coast and Vale have a fantastic programme of events running throughout the week commencing on Monday 8th November. These events have kindly been opened to colleagues across North East and Yorkshire.

Here are some highlights:

Men’s sleep issues – (Monday 8th Nov 12-1pm and Friday 12th 2-3pm) – do you or your male partner have difficulty sleeping? Snoring, sleep apnea, frequent interruptions to go to the toilet? If so, this session is for you and the man in your life.

Gareth Thomas, Welsh Rugby Player – (Tuesday 9th Nov 2-3pm) – talking about LGBTQ+ equality, mental health and tackling stigma around HIV.

Q&A session with Dr Alex George – (Monday 8th Nov 10:30-11:30am) – Alex works in A&E as an emergency doctor and has become a well-known and respected healthcare professional in the UK and will be talking to us about men’s mental health and answer some your questions.

Men’s Mental Health with Dr Alex George – Friday 12th Nov 10:30-11:30am – Additional sessions looking at men’s mental health.

Veterans support – Thursday 11th November – There are specific sessions on Thursday for veterans to coincide with Remembrance Day.

There are also sessions during the week focusing on cancer, blood pressure, nutrition and exercise.

These sessions are open to all staff across North East and Yorkshire including male and female colleagues, their husbands, partners, fathers, brothers, friends…
